Download the Communications Service Packages PDF to see available options.

Through this BDFP funded offering, members can access communications expertise to improve patient-facing materials, digital communications, accessibility, branding, or other clinic-specific communications needs.

Support can be tailored to your clinic and may include:

  • Patient materials: Refresh or redesign handouts, forms, brochures, posters and signage using clear, patient-friendly language. Website & digital tools:
  • Improve website content, online booking information, fillable forms, FAQs, email/voicemail templates and multilingual content.
  • Accessibility: Review communications for plain language, readability, digital accessibility, equity and inclusion, and identify barriers affecting how patients receive and understand information.
  • Clinic branding: Refresh logos, waiting-room materials, photography, graphics, business cards and other materials to create a consistent and professional clinic presence.
  • Custom projects: Support with communications strategies, translation projects, multi-material campaigns, photography/video, or other customized communications needs.

If you are not sure what your clinic needs, we encourage you to work with our consultant team to help you identify any communications challenges.

Through this funded offering, BDFP members can access professional MOA recruitment support to help meet their clinic’s staffing needs.

Clinics will be connected to a recruitment service that will work directly with participating clinics to understand their needs, and help identify suitable MOA candidates for both ongoing positions and temporary coverage.

Support is available for:

  • Full-time or part-time MOA recruitment
  • Temporary coverage for vacations
  • Coverage for extended or planned leaves
  • Sourcing and identifying qualified MOA candidates
  • Matching candidates based on clinic needs, hours, and practice environment

The goal is to reduce the time and administrative burden associated with MOA recruitment, improve staffing stability, and help clinics maintain consistent operations and patient access during staffing gaps.

The Clinic Operations Assessment is a Division-funded opportunity designed to help clinics identify operational challenges and practical ways to improve how the practice runs. The assessment focuses on the business, administrative, and workforce side of clinic operations, including workflow, staffing, communication, and capacity.

The assessment includes a one-day, on-site review of normal clinic operations conducted by ClearWay Health Consulting, along with confidential discussions with physicians and clinic staff. Following the assessment, the clinic receives a written report and prioritized 90-day action plan identifying opportunities for improvement and recommended next steps. Physician involvement is approximately one hour, and clinics can continue normal patient operations during the assessment.

The assessment may help your clinic:

  • Identify administrative workflow bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Improve MOA workload distribution, retention, and staffing stability
  • Strengthen communication between physicians and clinic staff
  • Improve processes related to reception, referrals, results, forms, and patient intake
  • Reduce reliance on individual staff members by identifying opportunities for cross-training
  • Better use existing tools, resources, and funded supports available to the clinic

What your clinic receives:

  • A current-state assessment of administrative workflows
  • A detailed findings report
  • A prioritized 90-day action plan based on effort and impact
  • Sample procedure templates, where appropriate
  • Identification of recommendations that may already be supported through free or funded programs

For clinics approved through the Burnaby Division’s project funding, the full cost of the assessment is covered by the Division, with no contribution required from the clinic.

This service is intended to reduce financial and time barriers to professional development while supporting stronger, more effective primary care practices. With this funding, family physicians and clinic staff may participate in educational and professional development opportunities that strengthen knowledge, skills, and clinic operations. This may include relevant courses, workshops, certifications, or training that supports improved patient care, practice efficiency, and/or staff development.

Funding may support:

  • Registration or course fees for approved education and training
  • Sessional compensation for FPs for time spent participating in approved educational activities, where applicable
  • Training related to clinical care, practice management, leadership, technology/EMR, quality improvement, communication, or clinic workflows
  • Professional development for MOAs and other clinic staff that enhances their skills and supports effective clinic operations
