Patient Attachment Initiative

Our Patient Attachment Initiative (PAI) team helps Burnaby primary care providers build a patient panel that is balanced, manageable, and aligned with patient needs.

Are you looking for a Burnaby doctor or nurse practitioner?

What is the Patient Attachment Initiative?

The Patient Attachment Initiative provides a streamlined approach to matching unattached patients with primary care providers who have capacity.

In B.C., we use the Health Connect Registry (HCR), which is a centralized wait list in the province and a part of the Provincial Attachment System (PAS). Through this system, you receive patient lists directly from the HCR. Patients are prioritized and matched with providers who have open capacity through this system.

How can the PAI team help you?

Primary care providers in Burnaby can work with our PAI team to:

  • Support your onboarding to and use of the Provincial Attachment System
  • Help you build and maintain a balanced patient panel that aligns with your capacity and practice needs
  • Provide lists of potential patients, ensuring fairness based on how long patients have been registered, while also considering patient complexity and priority care needs
